Cast UK help CILT launch pioneering ITN business service

UK-wide news broadcaster ITN has embarked on a brand new online service, utilising their renowned production skills to help industry tell its stories in a professional and accessible manner. The Transport News section of ITN’s website is due to be officially launched at the CILT(UK) Annual Conference on 13 June 2013, and Cast UK have been selected as one of the first companies to be featured as part of CILT’s “Thought Leader” programme. ITN recently launched an online channel to highlight important business and social activities, promoted by key players in several sectors: healthcare, education, banking and transport. It’s a chance for these sectors to contribute positively to a news sector that often focuses on them only when things go wrong, the recent horse-meat scandal being a case in point for the supply chain industry. CILT, being a major contributor to the channel, asked Cast UK to make a film with ITN highlighting the recruitment work they do. The film can be seen at www.transportnews.itn.co.uk/Logistics/ Cast UK is a recruitment consultancy that matches employers with candidates in the supply chain, logistics and procurement sectors at managerial and executive level. Founder and Group MD Wayne Brophy, who appears in the film, said: “It’s great to see such a respected channel as ITN devoting a whole online section to industry, and I’m naturally delighted that transport and logistics is one of the main divisions. When Cast UK were asked to participate by the CILT & ITN, we jumped at the chance, and I’m sure many others from our industry will too as the channel grows in stature.” The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) is a professional body for individuals working within the transport and logistics industries, and was granted its Royal Charter in 1926. Independent Television News (ITN) is a major news provider and a familiar and important broadcaster in the UK since its foundation in 1955. As well as making the major UK ITV news bulletins, ITN produces news content for Channel 4, Channel 5, Telegraph Media Group, Yahoo!, mobile operators and other outlets that provide news, working across several genres.
